Sighs of Spain
Sighs of Spain

Day 119: Sighs of Spain

"I write" (or rather... copy and paste) these lines from the famous pasodoble just before leaving my house, heading to Germany.

I feel within me, deep sorrow
I leave suffering, far from you
And my heart is torn apart
The sun will never shine on me
For in Spain’s garden, my love
Like a flower, will always remain
Within my soul, I will carry you
Cradle of glory, bravery, and honor
Spain, I shall never see you again
My heart sighs in sorrow.
If the wind carries my lament to your feet
Let Spain return it with love
Spain, my beloved

I feel within me, deep sorrow
I leave suffering, far from you
And my heart is torn apart.
The sun will never shine on me.

I shall never see your land again,
Far from you, I will die in sorrow.

My dear Spain,
I no longer see you
You are my guide,
For you, my sighs arise
You are my joy

Day and night
I will never forget you
Oh, who could return?
Oh, who could go back?
What wouldn’t I give
To see myself, my homeland
Under your blue sky?

In my solitude
I sigh for you
Spain, without you, I die
Spain, sun and shining star

Deep inside me
I keep you hidden
I wish I could cross the vast sea
Spain, flower of my life
